About
Sparades
Well, you know the old Charades game... Sunday night, after dinner, the whole family gathers around the fireplace picking teams, while the youngest jumps up and down yelling... Pick Me! Pick Me! Charades is about 'miming' something the others have to guess. It can be anything, but is usually the title of a movie or a book, or a song.

Sparades is just that. Spiderette, with her mighty talent for acting and undeniable charm, will mime the title of movie/book/song, and you will have to guess what it is. It's that simple. Watch what Spiderette does on stage, listen carefully, put two and two together, and guess the title.

Why Spiderette? She was the only one who auditioned for the role.

What To Do
Guess correctly, and be in the running for Cash and prizes (see Prize Pool).

Click the thumbnail of each episode (when available), and watch the sparade. Once you think you know what the Sparaded title is, click on your Entry Form, and enter your guess. There are six episodes in this series, and a box to enter your guess for each one.

There is a complex scoring system in place, where your score is defined by how many spiders watched each episode, how many got it wrong, and how many got it right. See Help Desk and Stats for more details and plan your strategy.

Conditions
Ahh... where would we be without conditions, exclusions and provisos...
  • You must be a spider to participate.
  • A correct answer is defined as submitting the Title of the movie this episode is about. In the event where a movie is known by a number of titles, the correct spelling/punctuation/etc shall be deemed the one as listed in IMDB (but without the year of release). Capitalisation does not matter, but numerics and punctuation does. As an example only -
    • The Godfather, Part II (not Godfather 2)
    • Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (not Max Mad 3)
    • The Matrix Reloaded (not Matrix 2)
    • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (not just The Goblet of Fire).
  • The spider with the most correct, AND the highest score at 2009-09-30 23:59:59, is the winner. Even if you have a higher score than the winner, but less correct, they win.
  • The judges decision is final. Did we mention final? Yes, Final.
... and of course the usual legal disclaimers...
  • SpiderMetrix.com respectfully acknowledges that these movies and related paraphernalia belongs to somebody in Holywood, for which we make no claims whatsoever.
  • We also acknowledge that the original 'Charades' is a game that has been around since our grandma was a baby, but we do claim that the 'Sparades' version as our own brainchild.
  • This is a game of skill and not chance. In the unlikely event of a dispute, a password protected document has been emailed to a secret address.
  • SpiderMetrix.com staff are not eligible to win any prizes (duh!), and have been trained to immediately identify bribery and gracefully accept it.
